This document is SEPARATE from the Mikrostomart clinic privacy policy, which covers medical records, the shop and payments. The children’s app does none of those things.
What the app stores
The made-up hero name chosen when the profile is created, the history of finished brushing sessions (date, time of day, how many quadrants, how many seconds), the pearls and outfits earned, and the parent settings: reminder times, spoken praise, language, rewards, Protective Bubbles and holidays. The parent PIN is kept in the secure system store. All of it is written to the app storage on this phone. We never ask for a full name, address, e-mail, phone number or date of birth.
What the app does not do
There are no accounts and no sign-in. There are no ads, no analytics, no tracking tools and no advertising identifier. There are no in-app purchases. There is no chat, no comments and no content from other users. There is no online leaderboard. The app does not talk to our servers. Everything the child does — the brushing guide, pearls, wardrobe and the parent area — works without an internet connection; the only connection the app makes on its own is an update check at start-up (point 4 below).
When data can leave the phone
There are four such paths, and we would rather name them than promise that data never leaves the device.
1. The backup a parent saves. The file with profiles and history goes out through the system share sheet, exactly where the parent sends it. The parent decides, not the app.
2. The phone backup. iPhone copies app data to iCloud and Android to Google, if backup is turned on in the phone settings. It goes to the phone owner’s own account, not to us — and it can be turned off in the system settings.
3. Spoken praise. Praise and fun facts are read out by the phone’s speech synthesiser. We pick a voice that works offline, but if the phone has no such voice for the chosen language, the system may fall back to a network voice — then the spoken text reaches the voice provider. Spoken praise can be switched off in the parent area.
4. Update check. At start-up the app asks the Expo update service (u.expo.dev, Expo, a company in the USA) whether a newer version exists. The request carries an identifier for this installation, the app version and the phone model — no hero name, no brushing history and nothing your child did in the app. This is how fixes reach you without waiting for a store update. The request is sent even when there is no new version.
How long we keep data
Data lives on the phone until a parent removes it. Deleting a profile in the parent area removes that child’s history, pearls, outfits and fun facts seen. Uninstalling the app removes everything. The brushing log grows by about 730 entries a year; past 730 entries the older part is compacted to one entry per time of day, so the file does not grow without limit. We hold no copy of this data, because it never reaches us.
Security
App data sits in its private directory, which other apps cannot read. The parent PIN is kept in the system key store (Keychain on iOS, Keystore on Android), not in an ordinary file. Writing history is atomic: a temporary file first, then a swap, so an interruption never leaves a damaged entry. There is no server of ours from which a child’s data could leak, because we never send it anywhere.
Parental rights
Review: „Save a backup” in the parent area creates a readable file with everything the app knows. Deletion: the bin next to a profile removes that child’s data, and uninstalling the app removes all of it. Correction: the hero name and character can be changed in the parent area at any time. Because we do not hold this data, these rights are exercised in the app itself, with no request to us — and if something is missing, write to the address above.
Changes to this policy
If we change the rules, we will update this screen together with the date at the top and describe the change in the store release notes. Should the app ever start sending data, we will describe it here BEFORE such a version reaches the store.
Notice for parents in the United States (COPPA)

We collect no personal information from children. Everything the app stores — the made-up hero name, the brushing history, rewards and parent settings — stays in the app storage on your device. The brushing log is compacted after about 730 entries, so it does not grow without limit. We keep no copy of this data.
Parental rights: you can review your child’s data with „Save a backup” in the parent area and delete it by removing the profile or uninstalling the app. Because the data never reaches us, there is nothing for us to review, correct or delete on our side. Questions go to the address above.
