Straight Smile

Orthodontics Opole

Clear Correct transparent aligners

Do you dream of straight teeth but don't want metal braces? At Mikrostomart, we offer orthodontic treatment with Clear Correct transparent aligners — virtually invisible on your teeth.

During your first visit, we will perform a 3D scan and show you a simulation of the final result. You will know exactly how your teeth will look after treatment and how long it will take.

Most Patients who come to us requesting orthodontics are aged 25-45 — they work in professions where visibility is part of the job (sales, presentations, client contact). For them, traditional metal braces with brackets and wires are unacceptable. Clear Correct solves this problem — the aligners are virtually invisible and removable during meals or important meetings.

When Orthodontics Makes Sense

Orthodontics is not just about aesthetics. Crooked teeth often lead to functional problems: an asymmetric bite overloads one temporomandibular joint (TMJ), making hygiene more difficult → faster cavities, some contact points undergo excessive wear (attrition). Correcting the bite at ages 30-40 is an investment in 30 more years of oral health.

At the same time, not everyone needs orthodontics. Slight aesthetic irregularities can often be resolved with bonding or veneers in one session (instead of 12 months of aligners). The decision: orthodontics vs conservative aesthetics vs a combination of both — requires consultation and analysis. This is a topic for an honest conversation, not an automatic referral.

Important: orthodontics can be a stage before aesthetics. First, we correct the alignment of the teeth (orthodontics), then we refine the color and shape (bonding or veneers). Such sequencing gives the most durable effect — because veneers on crooked teeth will eventually crack due to uneven bite forces.

How does the treatment proceed?

Standard Clear Correct protocol in our office. Each of the 4 stages is documented — the Patient knows exactly what is happening and when.

1

Consultation + 3D scan

Digital scan of your teeth and simulation of the final result. You will know exactly what to expect.

2

Individual plan

A set of transparent aligners designed specifically for you, changed every 1-2 weeks.

3

Wearing the aligners

You wear them for at least 22 hours a day, removing them only for eating and brushing. They are virtually invisible.

4

Retention

After treatment, we place a retainer (a thin wire) that keeps the result forever.

Clear Correct vs Invisalign vs Fixed Braces

Three main paths of orthodontics for adults. The choice depends on the complexity of the defect, budget, and aesthetic preferences.

Most Popular

Clear Correct

Removable aligners · invisible · 6-18 months

The most popular solution for adults. Removable aligners = normal hygiene and eating. Discipline required: minimum 22 hours a day of wear. Price is intermediate between fixed braces and Invisalign.

Best for: defects in up to 80% of cases in adults, complete invisibility

Invisalign

Removable aligners · invisible · 12-24 months

Pioneer of the category — serving a larger range of patients (extreme defects). Higher price than Clear Correct. Similar discipline requirements. Often chosen for more complicated cases.

Best for: very large bite defects where Clear Correct is insufficient

Fixed Braces

Wires + brackets · visible · 18-30 months

Traditional, best orthodontic control — full control of tooth movement. But: visibility, more difficult hygiene, risk of enamel changes. Rarely chosen by adults — mainly in adolescents or very difficult cases.

Best for: complicated bone defects requiring precise control

Typical Treatment Time

Treatment time mainly depends on the size of the initial defect. Below are typical scenarios we observe in the office:

  • Slight irregularity of the lower incisorsClear Correct 4-6 months, 10-15 aligners. A common case among young adults.
  • Moderate crowding (both arches, lack of space for incisors)Clear Correct 8-12 months, 20-30 aligners. May require IPR (interproximal reduction — minimal grinding of 0.1-0.2 mm between teeth).
  • Large bite defect, Class II/III, open/reverseClear Correct 18-24 months, 40-50 aligners + frequent attachments. In extreme cases: referral for Invisalign or fixed braces.
  • Only retention after previous treatment (teeth have shifted)Re-Align — 3-6 months, 5-10 aligners. Often sufficient to restore the effect from years ago.

Retention After Treatment — The Most Important Stage

The most common mistake Patients after orthodontics make: neglecting retention because the teeth look good already. Result: after 2-3 years, the teeth return to their original position. Retention is forever. Here’s how we do it:

  • Retention wire glued on the inside (lingually) of the lower and upper incisors — invisible, worn constantly. Replacement every 5-10 years (when it detaches or rusts).
  • Retention splint worn at night — for the first 6 months daily, then 2-3 times a week. Signals the teeth to stay in place.
  • Check-ups every 12 months — assessing whether retention is working, whether the wire is holding, and whether the splint needs replacement.

Orthodontic Prevention in Children

In children, early intervention can often save full orthodontics at ages 16-18. Example: a palatal expander at ages 7-9 widens the upper arch and makes room for incisors — without the need for premolar extractions later.

Other early interventions: functional appliances (Class II/III), mini-screws for jaw growth adjustment, reflex blockers (finger in mouth, mouth breathing). Orthodontics in children does not always mean full braces — often a small correction at the right stage of development is sufficient.

The first orthodontic visit — recommended at age 7 (Polish Orthodontic Society). Early assessment allows planning any potential intervention at the appropriate stage of development.

Benefits of Clear Correct aligners

  • Virtually invisible — no one will notice you are straightening your teeth.
  • Removable — you can eat, drink, and brush your teeth normally.
  • Comfortable — no wires or brackets that irritate your cheeks.
  • Shorter treatment time — on average 6-18 months.
  • 3D simulation — see the final result before you start.
  • 3D simulation capability — see the final effect before making a decision.
  • Minimal conflict with fixed braces — you can work in client-facing jobs without embarrassment.

What Marcin Brings to Orthodontics

Openness: Marcin is not an orthodontist. In our office, we conduct Clear Correct orthodontic treatment (simple and moderate defects), and for complicated cases, we refer to a dedicated orthodontist we have collaborated with for years. It’s a matter of honesty — it’s not worth treating outside of one’s specialty.

What Marcin does before/after orthodontics: comprehensive aesthetic analysis (combined with DSD), bonding or composite veneers after orthodontic treatment (aesthetic refinement), and microscopic inspection of the enamel surface after removing Clear Correct attachments (the enamel surface after adhesives often requires polishing).

From the perspective of M.Sc. RWTH Aachen — Er:YAG laser allows for precise removal of adhesive residue after removing fixed braces/Clear Correct attachments without the risk of damaging the enamel. This is the finishing touch that most offices overlook — and it makes a difference for the long-term appearance of the teeth.

Orthodontics is Often a Stage of a Broader Plan

After completing orthodontic treatment, it is worth refining aesthetics (color, minor shape corrections with bonding). Sometimes orthodontics requires prior extraction of premolars (we refer to surgery).

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

How do Clear Correct aligners work?

A set of transparent trays changed every 1-2 weeks. Each one gently shifts your teeth into the correct position.

Does straightening teeth with aligners hurt?

The pain is minimal — a feeling of pressure for 1-2 days after a new aligner. Incomparably less than with metal braces.

How long does the treatment take?

On average 6-18 months, depending on the issue. We will provide the exact time during your first visit.

Will my teeth go back to their old position?

No — we use retention (a wire on the inside or a night aligner) that guarantees the durability of the result.

Can I drink coffee with Clear Correct aligners?

No — coffee, wine, tea stain the aligners in 2-3 days. Remove the aligners before every meal and drink (except water). This is an additional restriction — but at the same time a limit for unhealthy snacks between meals.

Can I play sports with Clear Correct?

Yes — the aligners do not limit sports. For contact sports (boxing, MMA, rugby), we recommend a protective mouthguard during the fight/match. Swimming, running, gym — without restrictions.

Does Clear Correct hurt?

The first 1-3 days after a new aligner — feeling of pressure, slight sensitivity. It passes on its own. Incomparably less than fixed braces (where after tightening it hurts for 3-5 days). Most Patients do not take painkillers.

Can I stop treatment halfway?

You can — but the effect will be partial. After stopping, the teeth remain in their current position (they do not return to the original position — provided immediate retention is applied). Practical advice: do not start treatment if you are not 100% ready for 6-18 months of discipline.

Does Clear Correct solve all defects?

No — in 15-20% of cases, the defect is too complicated and Clear Correct is insufficient. Typical examples: very large Class II/III, requiring significant extraction, skeletal disorders requiring orthognathic surgery. In such cases, we honestly refer to an orthodontist with fixed braces or to Invisalign Lite.
