Stage 1: Diagnosis and Planning

The key to success is precise diagnostics. At Mikrostomart, we always start with a Cone Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT). This allows us to assess the quantity and quality of bone in three dimensions. We plan the implant position with accuracy to a fraction of a millimeter.

Stage 2: Surgical Procedure

The implant placement procedure itself is completely painless, performed under local anesthesia (the same as used for cavity treatment). The procedure typically lasts from 20 to 40 minutes.

  • The doctor prepares the implant site in the bone.
  • Inserts the implant.
  • Sutures the gum.

  • The patient receives post-operative instructions, antibiotics, and pain relievers.

    Stage 3: Osseointegration

This is the healing period. It usually takes:

  • 3-4 months in the mandible (lower jaw).
  • 5-6 months in the maxilla (upper jaw).

  • During this time, bone cells "grow" around the implant, permanently stabilizing it.

    Stage 4: Exposure and Prosthetics

After healing, the implant is exposed and a healing abutment is placed on it, shaping the gum. After approximately 2 weeks, an impression (or digital scan) is taken and the laboratory creates the final ceramic crown.

The patient leaves with a new, beautiful tooth.
